Determination of Diffusivity and Solubility in Two Phase Systems

Abstract: Recently in this laboratory, the problem arose of measuring the solubility and diffusivity of superheated steam in molten lithium nitrate. Since the restrictions imposed by this type of system preclude the use of the common methods of diffusivity determination, it was found necessary to develope and extend a simple technique, shich, though not new (Z) has not been widely used. As shown below this technique is acceptable to a wide variety of two-phase systems.
